installed aoe3 , warchiefs and asian dynasties in win 8 and then upgraded to 8.1. got trouble with my installation and tried to reinstall it altogether. the first to worked and just the warchiefs just dont work! im getting quite frustrated now. i read a lot in the web but all the ‘solutions’ didnt work to me and the link isnt made for 8.1 isnt it?! PLEASE help me i want to play aoe again!!!
How to make Age of Empires 3 work in Windows 8.1
- Rename the InstallShield folder
- Download and install the latest Windows Installer package
- Locate and then close the file
- Create a new user account
- Perform a clean startup
- Download and install the latest version of the .NET Framework
