Airbnb, the popular alternative lodging service, has made it clear that it plans on releasing a UWP app for Windows 10. However, it has yet to materialize but it doesn’t mean Airbnb has lost interest in doing this.
In a recent Twitter post, the company said work on the app might still be in the pipeline after a fan asked for an update. The company said folks should stay tuned for future updates, but we have no idea how long that is.
@weemundo This might in the pipeline, so stay tuned for future updates Rahul! We hear you!

Looking at what the company has to say, it is clear that nothing is set in stone at the moment. The app might or might not be released — its eventual fate is probably dependent on how much success Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile have. Maybe 270 million Windows 10 users is not enough. Then again, it may also depend on the number of Windows 10 users who are taking advantage of the official website. If the number is strong, then the company may not need to pour resources into an app.
We can’t blame Airbnb for taking the safe route. Hopefully, Microsoft looks at what is going on and how app developers are thinking. Usage of the Windows Store needs to increase significantly or else it doesn’t matter how many computer users have Windows 10 installed — developers won’t budge.
