Honestly, you know them as being among the thinnest and most powerful gaming laptops on the market. And now, with a thickness of 20.5mm for the m15 and 22mm for the m17, the new updated versions are designed to keep Alienware on top with high-end specs and great cooling.

Moreover, they brought the magnesium alloy for structural rigidity and lightness from the more expensive model Alienware Area 51m for the chassis of the updated rigs.

What is new about Alienware m15 and m17?

Graphics improvements

Alienware m15 and m17 come with the latest NVIDIA technologies like DLSS, ray tracing, and AI-powered graphics. The Alienware m15 and m17 now offer the option of an AMD Radeon RX 5500M, including their first-ever 7nm graphics architecture on an Alienware Notebook, topping 1,645MHz of Max Boost.

The GPUs are helped by what Alienware likes to call incredible displays that deliver the best visual experience for each gaming experience. And we tend to agree an the UHD OLED displays deliver 300Hz  for everyone who likes some really fast action.

Cooling

Alienware promises a reengineered Cryo-Tech that will keep your system even cooler. Apparently, the new one enables more air to be channeled directly to the core components with 132 blade fans for GPU and CPU.

Also, they come with an overall increase of 40% to its heat pipe surface area, to keep Alienware m15 and m17 cool even in long gaming sessions.

  • The CPU configuration goes from 10th gen. Intel CoreTM i5-10300H to the 10th gen. Intel CoreTM i9-10980HK
  • The GPU configuration starts from the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti 4GB GDDR6 right to the top with the NVIDIA GeForce RTXTM 2080 SUPER 8GB GDDR6 with Max-Q Design
  • RAM memory starts from 8GB DDR4 2666MHz and goes up to 32GB DDR4 2666MHz
  • The display is a 15.6″ but the specs vary from FHD (1920 x 1080) 144Hz 7ms 300-nits 72% NTSC color gamut to an OLED UHD (3840 x 2160) 60Hz 1ms 400-nits 100% DCI-P3 color gamut + Tobii Eyetracking technology

  • The CPU configuration is the same as for m15 and goes from 10th gen. Intel CoreTM i5-10300H to the 10th gen. Intel CoreTM i9-10980HK
  • The GPU configuration starts from the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti 4GB GDDR6 right to the top with the NVIDIA GeForce RTXTM 2080 SUPER 8GB GDDR6 – Max Performance
  • RAM memory options ar exactly as the ones from m15
  • The display is bigger at 17.3″ and the options start from a FHD (1920 x 1080) 144Hz 9ms 300-nits 72% NTSC color gamut way up to a UHD (3840 x 2160) 60Hz 25ms 500-nits 100% Adobe RGB color gamut + Tobii Eyetracking technology
