More and more of today’s electronics are becoming interconnected, even more so with digital personal assistants coming from every one of the major tech companies. The desire to have all of your devices, appliances, and accessories talk to each other and play nice with one another is at an all-time high. With so many devices, though, some are bound not to get along.

Even though the Eufy Floodlight Camera isn’t compatible with HomeKit doesn’t mean you can’t get the most out of the device with your smart home assistants. However, if you are already using HomeKit, a few Eufy Floodlight Camera competitors in the same price range might be able to meet your expectations.

Eufy Floodlight Camera is Not Compatible with HomeKit

Apple’s HomeKit might be somewhat confusing for many people as it is neither an app nor a physical product. HomeKit is what is called a framework. It is an underlying program that runs in the background of your iOS and iPadOS devices, allowing your smart devices to speak to each other and your Apple devices easily.

We have instructions on how to set up the Eufy Floodlight Cameras with Google Home and Alexa.

Eufy Cameras that are Compatible with HomeKit

While the Eufy Floodlight Cameras are not compatible with HomeKit, Eufy makes many other cameras compatible with Apple’s HomeKit. The only caveat is that the cameras Eufy makes that are HomeKit capable lack floodlights. So, if you are specifically looking for floodlights, there is a section below about other floodlight brands that are HomeKit capable.

One thing to note about the Eufy cameras compatible with HomeKit is that they require the Eufy HomeBase 2 to connect to Apple’s HomeKit. The HomeBase 2 is a base station that connects your cameras to your home network. The HomeBase 2 also has an internal 16 GB flash drive, and a built-in siren, and can support 16 cameras up to 90m away.

Floodlight Cameras Compatible with Apple’s HomeKit

Currently, numerous internet-enabled cameras are compatible with HomeKit available on the market. However, there are only two that are floodlight cameras. If simple security cameras without lights are what you are looking for, mainly for indoor surveillance, then your options are almost endless.

Even Eufy makes some great HomeKit-compatible cameras without lights. They have decided not to carry over the HomeKit integration to their outdoor floodlight cameras.

Here are the two best floodlight cameras that are compatible with HomeKit.

The Netatmo c Camera – WiFi Integrated Floodlight

The Netatmo c Camera is comparable in price and functionality to the Eufy Floodlight Camera. In some cases, it ekes out the win. With Netatmo, you aren’t required to use Eufy’s Cloud storage; you have access to Dropbox or any FTP of your choosing. There is also a MicroSD slot for saving videos. One downside is the field of view drops from 140° to 100°.

Here is a short list of Netatmo c Camera features:

Eve Outdoor Cam – Secure Floodlight Camera

The Eve Outdoor Cam was made specifically to work with HomeKit. It was the first floodlight designed to work specifically with Apple’s HomeKit framework from the ground up. One of the main benefits of the Eve Outdoor Cam is that it has a direct, encrypted connection to the camera and can be accessed without cloud or a bridge dependency.

The Eve Outdoor Cam also has one of the largest viewing angles of any flood light camera on the market today. Most internet-enabled floodlight cameras have a 140° viewing angle, but the Even Outdoor Cam has a 157° viewing angle thanks to its wide-angle lens.
