Earlier this week, we reviewed a tool named Windows 7 Folder Background Changer remove the default white background color of Windows Explorer and spice the space with a custom picture. Well the good is that Windows 7 users who are in search for a tool to change folder background color now have another tool to choose from.

The tool we are talking about is AveFolderBG. AveFolderBG isn’t just another program to change folder background in Windows 7.  It’s a shell extension that integrates into Folder properties and lets you change the background from there. In other words, you need not run any tool to start changing folder background image.

Once installed, Folder Background tab appears adjust to the Customize tab when you open folder properties. It also lets you customize text color with shadow effects. To  change the background of a folder, right-click on it, click Properties, switch to the Folder Background tab, click Set image button to browse to the image that you would like to appear as folder background and then click Apply button.

How to install and use AveFolderBG

Step 1: Download (download x32 & download x64) and extract the zip contents. Make sure that you are downloading the right version as the add-on is available both in 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

Step 2: Open the folder, right-click on Install file (.bat file) and select Run as administrator. Click Yes and then Ok for the prompt.

Step 3: You are done! To change the background of a folder, right-click on the folder, select Properties to see Folder Background tab.

If you often customize your Windows 7 Folder background, then this is the perfect tool as you can now change the background without running any tool. We have tested tit on Windows 7 Ultimate x86 and it works great. Note that the zip pack also comes with uninstall file so that you can uninstall it any time.

AveFolderBG is simply fantastic compared to other utilities as it integrates into the Windows shell to give you a quick access.
