CrystalDiskMark 5, the newest version of the popular disk benchmarking tool, is now available on the Windows Store. This application is free and allows users to measure the write and read times of the hard drives and solid-state drives in both laptops and computers. And since all drives are not equal, this application allows you to have an idea of how fast or slow your drive actually is.
So, instead of looking on Google for CrystalDiskMark 5, download the zip on your computer, unzip the file and finally install the application, you can now download and install it directly from the Windows Store. This way, you can install the CrystalDiskMark 5 with ease on your computer and at the same time, be sure that you don’t get malware on your computer.
In addition, if you install the application from the Windows Store, its developers will be able to release and push updates to users directly, a feature that wasn’t available when CrystalDiskMark was a standalone application.
In the future, we will most likely see more classic applications being included in the Windows Store with the use of Project Centennial
HINT: Keep in mind that all Centennial apps are compatible with desktops and laptops that run on the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.
