AV-TEST institute examined 15000 pieces of malware by conducting a series of in-depth experiments.

The institute detected Zero-Day malware by carefully analyzing Web and attachments during the first phase. The second phase involved the study of known vulnerabilities. AV-TEST created a frame of reference for carrying out the tests.

The research methodology involved assessing three basic factors usability, system load, and detection capacity. Researchers examined the standard configuration of 19 security products that are being used in Windows 10.

These tests were conducted during the months of January and February. The results of these tests were published online to rank security products including Symantec Norton Security, McAfee Internet Security and F-Secure.

We focused on realistic test scenarios and challenged the products against real-world threats. Products had to demonstrate their capabilities using all components and protection layers.

All of these suites scored 6 points in protection, performance and usability and thus got the maximum of 18 points.

So, if these solutions ranked high in February, they can definitely fully protect your PC in March as well. So, check out these results to learn what are the best antivirus solutions to use in 2020.

Windows Defender got a pretty high score

This research proved that Windows Defender left behind many security products and scored a total of 17 points.
