If you have a Blink camera home security system, you may have invested in a Sync Module to be able to connect more cameras and enjoy faster data streaming. But if you have a Blink Sync Module, you might be wondering: Why is the Blink Sync Module blinking green?

If your Blink Sync Module is blinking greens it means that the internet is not connected properly. This problem can be solved by restarting your WiFi router, attempting to connect the module to the WiFi again, moving the module closer to the router, or contacting your internet service provider.

In this article, we are going to step through the four tactics you can and should take in order to properly connect your Blink Sync Module to the internet so that it stops blinking green and starts working properly! In the next few minutes, your module should be up and running again.

Before we dive into the solutions you can take to fix the blinking green light on your Blink Sync Module, it’s first important to understand why it’s happening.

If your Blink Sync Module is blinking green, it is not connected to the internet. The issue could be:

  • You did not follow the correct steps to connect it.
  • The module is too far away from the router.
  • Your WiFi isn’t functioning properly.
  • You do not have the bandwidth to support the device.

However, as with most tech problems, it’s almost impossible to find out what the issue is before attempting to solve it.

So let’s find out what you can do if your Blink Sync Module is blinking green to connect it to the internet!

Luckily, there are four fairly easy tactics that you can try right now if your Blink Sync Module is blinking green and, therefore, is not properly connected to the internet.

Restart Your WiFi Router

The very first thing you should do if your Blink Sync Module isn’t connecting properly to your home wireless network is to simply restart your router.

Although it sounds almost too good to be true, usually, this will do the trick! The age-old tactic of unplugging the router, leaving it for a few minutes, and plugging it back could be the only thing you need to do.

However, if after restarting the WiFi router, the light is still blinking green, don’t worry. There are three more options you can try.

Connect the Module to the WiFi Again

It’s possible that your Blink Sync Module is not properly connected to your home wireless network. To find out if this is the problem, here’s what you need to do:

  • Open the Blink app on your mobile device.
  • Click the gear icon on the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap Device and System Settings.
  • Select the Sync Module from the list of available devices.
  • Click Change WiFi network.
  • Follow the prompts to connect to your WiFi.

If it’s still blinking green, you can try restarting the module by unplugging it for a few minutes and then plugging it back in.

But if that still doesn’t work, it’s likely that your Blink Sync Module is too far from the WiFi router.

It’s important to note that the Blink Sync Module should be no farther than 30 feet away from your WiFi router. So if it is, you should move either the module closer to the router or vice versa.

As well, there is a chance that the module won’t connect to the router because of interference. This can be caused by microwaves, baby monitors, or cement or adobe walls.

If you notice that any of these things are between your module and WiFi router, you will again need to move one or the other to a new location.

Contact Your Internet Service Provider

Finally, if solutions 1-3 didn’t work and your Blink Sync Module is still blinking green and isn’t properly connected to the internet, you need to call your internet service provider.

They may let you know that the internet is simply down at the moment, in which case, there is nothing you can do but wait for it to return.

However, it may be that the package you opted for doesn’t have the bandwidth to provide the module with sufficient internet service.

In this case, you will likely have to purchase increased bandwidth in order to enjoy your Blink Sync Module.

Final Thoughts

Hopefully, your Blink Sync Module is no longer blinking green and is now successfully connected to the internet!

And luckily, if it happens again, you now have all the information you need to solve the problem yourself.
