Microsoft has announced that it’s acquiring BlueTalon to improve and simplify its data privacy across modern data estates.

BlueTalon is a provider of data-centric security for the future data platforms. The company has a healthy business model and already works with a lot of big companies to improve data security and data control.

Microsoft buys BlueTalon to enhance its data governance offerings

With the acquisition, the BlueTalon team will now work on developing deep data privacy solutions for Microsoft, as part of Azure.

Not only that, but it will continue to provide its own Unified Data Access Control solutions to modern data platforms, as Rohan Kumar, Corporate Vice President of Azure Data states in a Microsoft blog:

With this move, Redmond will look to help enterprises by constantly delivering data privacy solutions and keeping them compliant to privacy and security regulations.

Today we are excited to announce the acquisition of BlueTalon, a leading provider of Unified Data Access Control solutions for modern data platforms. BlueTalon works with leading Fortune 100 companies to eliminate data security blind spots and gain visibility and control of data. BlueTalon provides a customer-proven, data-centric solution for data access management and auditing across the diverse systems resident in modern data estates.

After the acquisition, BlueTalon will become part of Microsoft’s Azure Data Governance group.

Microsoft’s recent focus on data privacy and security is confirmed by this new step, and it seems like the Redmond giant isn’t going to stop anytime soon.
