Last week, at the WinHEC 2016 conference, Microsoft has revealed that it will be focusing more on hardware, and one of the improvements that will be made in Windows 10 Mobile is related to the Bluetooth stack. Also, the Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP), which is currently available with version 1.3 will be upgraded to version 1.5.

There were some problems with the Bluetooth stack and Microsoft Band users have reported that this feature wasn’t working properly, so Microsoft wants to upgrade it in Windows 10 Mobile. Before the Anniversary update will be released in July, developers will make sure that Bluetooth Beacons will have better support and companies will be able to pre-pair Bluetooth styluses when they will be shipped. This update will be very useful for Surface owners, as Bluetooth devices will easily pair with supported machines before they’re being shipped.

As for AVRCP, its current 1.3 version allows control devices to see information about music status, when the song is playing or it’s stopped, as well as metadata information about the name of the track and the artist who is playing it. Reports say that version 1.5 was included in Windows Insider in Build 14283, and users who have car head units (Kenwood DDX4016DAB) are able to search media on their phones and to control the volume though the Absolute Volume option.

Microsoft is preparing more surprises in Windows 10 Anniversary Update, and users who don’t have patience to wait for its official release can join Windows Insider Program and install builds in which Microsoft is including new features or improvements to the operating system.

Most likely, AVRCP 1.5 will come with Windows 10 Anniversary Update, but another feature that users are waiting anxiously to be added to Windows 10 Mobile is fingerprint support. Soon, HP will release the Elite x3 flagship with a fingerprint reader and this feature will arrive just in time.
