On the hunt for a cheap Xbox One but unable to locate one? No problem because Microsoft has officially cut the price of the system down to $299. The company is calling this a temporary price cut, but we have reasons to believe after the end date, the price will never change.

What Microsoft has done could be viewed as a move to take advantage of Father’s Day and the graduation season. Many fathers are still gamers, so they would likely enjoy getting an Xbox One as a gift. Furthermore, students preparing for graduation would probably want a video game console to take the load off.

From what we have come to understand, the 500GB model will cost $299, while the 1TB model will cost $319 at the Microsoft store and major retailers in the United States.

This sale will run from May 29 through Monday, June 13, the same day Microsoft is holding its hotly anticipated E3 2016 press conference. We expect the software giant to announce several things at its conference, and these include video games and new Xbox One hardware.

Recent rumors claim Microsoft is planning to announce an Xbox One Slim video game console destined for a late 2016 release, or as early as August. To make things even more interesting, Microsoft could also announce a new Xbox One video game system that is 4 times more powerful than the current model.

This particular system is expected to have a peak performance of 6teraflops, and could be able to support the Oculus Rift for VR games. Furthermore, both the upgraded Xbox One and the Slim are expected to support 4K video playback.

As for what else in terms of hardware Microsoft is looking to drop at E3, rumors claim the company could show case several Xbox-related streaming devices. We’re not sure if E3 is the right place to announce streaming sticks or boxes, so take the rumor with a grain of sand.
