Eufy is known for making all of its products extremely user-friendly. Whether you are a do-it-yourself veteran that has installed countless electronics or this is your first foray into home security or electronics installation, Eufy makes products that are easy to install in various ways. The great thing about Eufy is they think about the consumer installing the product first.

The Eufy Floodlight Camera can be installed upside down. It can also be installed under the eaves of your roof, on a vertical wall, or even inverted with the camera located at the top and the floodlights oriented at the bottom of the Eufy Floodlight Camera.

One of the great things about the Eufy Floodlight Camera system is that it is easy to install in various ways depending on the user’s needs. The camera can be installed vertically on a wall, under an eave, or inverted upside down completely. The Eufy Floodlight Camera will adapt to whatever the user needs. The camera itself can be oriented and focused in a myriad of ways.

Mounting the Eufy Floodlight Camera Upside Down

To mount the Eufy Floodlight Camera, you must decide the orientation you will settle on. Either on a vertical wall, under an eave, or on a vertical wall inverted (with the camera above the floodlights). The instructions for mounting the camera are the same for all three choices; the only difference is that you must orient the camera differently for each one.

The instructions for basic mounting will apply to all three orientations. Then, the instructions for hanging upside down under an eave will follow. The final instructions will be for mounting the Eufy Floodlight Camera inverted (camera above floodlights) on a vertical wall.

Those instructions will go into more detail on how to wire up your Eufy Floodlight Camera instead of just the mounting. Mounting the Eufy Floodlight Camera Upside Down Under a Roof Eave

When mounting the Eufy Floodlight Camera under an Eave, the installation is the same as above: the Eufy Floodlight Camera must be mounted to an electrical junction box in the same fashion. The only difference is the camera orientation once the Eufy Floodlight Camera unit is mounted.

Once you have your Eufy Floodlight Camera unit mounted to the electrical junction box under the eave of your roof, you just have to reorient the camera on the unit to point in the direction and proper orientation for your use case. Here are the instructions to do that:

  • Find the small Phillips head set screw on the arm holding the camera to the Eufy Floodlight Camera unit.Loosen the Phillips head set screw until you can move the camera on the arm around.Turn the camera 180° to an upside-down position or into the preferred orientation for your use case.Tighten the Phillips head set screw to lock the camera in position.Test the angle and operation of your camera in your Eufy Security app to ensure you are happy with the functionality. Adjust if necessary.

Make sure to remove all the stickers and protective shipping stickers from the floodlight lenses, front of the motion detectors, and camera lens before testing the motion-sensing and camera recording and sensing capabilities.

Mounting the Eufy Floodlight Camera Inverted on a Vertical Wall

To mount the Eufy Floodlight Camera on a vertical wall with the camera inverted, you can follow the same instructions as mounting the Eufy Floodlight Camera under an eave. Simply mount the Eufy Floodlight Camera to the junction box, loosen the set screw, orient the camera to the desired position, and tighten the set screw back down to lock the camera in position.

The only difference is if you choose to mount the Eufy Floodlight Camera on a vertical wall inverted with the floodlights oriented below the camera unit, you may have to mount the whole Eufy Floodlight Camera unit higher to achieve a proper viewing angle. By going higher to achieve a proper viewing angle, you also run the risk of the motion-sensing not working.

Conclusion

It is possible to mount your Eufy Floodlight Camera in several various configurations. Either vertically, hanging upside down under an eave, or inverted on a vertical wall. However, you may lose some viewing angle or height functionality depending on which option you choose. Some experimentation may be necessary to find the best setup for your use case.
