The Wyze Scale is a smart scale that measures body fat, weight, lean body mass, heart rate, and many other biometric data measurements. You can use the Wyze app to track your health and fitness status accurately each time you step on the scale. However, since the scale measures and tracks data specific to your body, you may be wondering if other people in your household can use the same scale.
The Wyze Scale can automatically recognize and sync biometric data for up to eight users; all eight users can also use the app to track their data. Outside of this, the Wyze Scale can be used to solely measure weight and body fat percentage for an unlimited number of users.
Below, we’ll discuss how the Wyze Scale adjusts to multiple users and how each user can use the accompanying Wyze app to access and see their biometric data. We’ll also cover how other guests can use your Wyze Scale beyond the eight-user limit.
Can Two People Use the Same Wyze Scale?
Up to eight people can use the same Wyze Scale because the scale can recognize the person on it when they have their phone with the Wyze app near them.
You will need to share the scale’s information with each new person:
- Open the Wyze app.Tap Wyze Scale.Tap the gear next to Scale Settings.Click Share.Select Share with a new user.Enter the person’s email address.Tap Share.
Before beginning the sharing process, make sure the other person already has the Wyze app downloaded and has an account. Enter in the same email they used to create their Wyze account.
Once you have completed the sharing process, the new user should receive a Wyze notification asking them to begin the setup process. The app should take them through all the necessary steps automatically.
If you share the same account with someone and just want to add them to the scale, follow these steps:
- Click Scale Settings.Press Users.Press Add member.Enter in all the information it asks for.Have them step on the scale and record their first measurement.
If at any point you want to stop sharing the scale, follow these steps:
- Open the Wyze app.Tap Account.Select Sharing.Tap the user you want to delete.Select Cancel.
The other user can also delete the device from their account if they choose not to use the scale anymore.
How Does Wyze Scale Know Who Is on It?
With up to eight distinct users, you may be wondering how the Wyze Scale can accurately differentiate between each person when they are on the scale.
Each time you weigh yourself, make sure to do a few things:
- Have your phone with the Wyze app open.Check the scale page.Have your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on.
The scale will detect your phone and use your weight to automatically recognize who is on the scale.
If everyone using the scale is very different in weight, the scale will be able to tell who is on the scale without the app being open. However, if you are within 10 pounds of another user, you will only be able to measure and sync your specific biometric data with the app open.
What Wyze Scale Features Do Shared Users Have Access to?
Shared users of your scale have certain features available to them. They can:
- Use all the Wyze Scale featuresCreate a Wyze Scale profileSee their measurement historyMeasure their weightMeasure their heart rateTrack their weight and body fat percentage trendsAdd the scale to their Wyze appRemove the scale from their Wyze app
There are also a few features that shared users cannot do:
- Change the unit of the measurementChange the scale’s nameChange the power saving mode settingSee the measurements of other users
With separate accounts and apps, the scale’s owner will also not see other users’ data and measurements; this is ideal for privacy purposes. However, if you are using the Add Member option described above instead of sharing the scale to their phone, you will be able to see all their data since you have joint accounts.
In Summary
The Wyze Scale is perfect for couples and families because up to eight people can use the scale with separate accounts. Simply share the scale settings with them using the Wyze app and then the scale can record and remember all their data.
