You can now use Cortana hands-free, away from Windows 10 devices

A number of partners are currently developing skills for Cortana. Some of the first skills are now available as an early preview […] Many of these skills work best on Windows 10 Creators Update […]  For any skills that aren’t working for you, please provide us feedback in Cortana using the feedback button.

During the event, Microsoft also showed off the way the personal assistant is now able to work away from Windows 10 devices. You can now use it in your vehicle, for instance. Cortana can now assist you hands-free while seamlessly interacting within your network.

During the presentation, Microsoft used a demo car to demonstrate the future features of Cortana. The AI was already able to schedule reminders, travel plans, to answer questions and so on, but it will do much more than that, especially with its integration with Microsoft Office tools and apps to let users work from their own car. The AI’s contextual recognition of the device you’re using lets Cortana save reminders for later at your desktop or workplace.

These are just a few of the newest Cortana skills. Microsoft advises developers to provide as much feedback as possible and notes that the majority of these skills work best on the Windows 10 Creators Update, in iOS, and on Android.
