Windows 10 and its features are evolving with every new major update. In fact, each major update brings more ways to combine these features in order to get the best possible experience. One of the most powerful Windows 10 features is surely Cortana, and Microsoft intends to give it even more options soon.
The latest Creators Update build for Windows 10 promises that Cortana will soon get involved with The Windows Out-Of-Box-Experience (OOBE) in order to give users more ways of setting up their Windows 10 computers for the first time.
In case you’re not familiar with the term, the OOBE is the phase of initial Windows setup that allows you to personalize the system to your needs. That includes choosing proper settings, setting up time and date, choosing keyboard language, creating User Accounts, and more.
Microsoft promises that you’ll be able to do all these things with Cortana using just your voice. This certainly represents a leap forward as no other virtual assistant is able to do this.
According to Microsoft, Cortana integration with the OOBE is still under development, so users are not able to use it to set up every aspect of the OOBE yet. However, as the Creators Update approaches and its development continues, we’re sure users will be able to complete the entire installation process with Cortana.
You probably won’t be able to use Cortana while installing the Creators Update as the process is still performed under the 1607 version, but each next major update will have this benefit. Microsoft hasn’t said much about this feature yet as it just announced it along with the new build. As soon as Redmond releases an updated statement, we’re going to make sure to let you know about further details.
What do you think about being able to complete the Windows 10 installation with Cortana? Are virtual assistants definitely taking over? Tell us your opinion in the comments below.
