2. Perform a System Restore from Safe Mode

  • After your computer restarts a few times, you should see the Boot Options screen. From that screen choose Troubleshoot.
  • Next click on Advanced Options > Startup Settings.
  • Click the restart button and wait for your computer to restart.
  • When your computer restarts you’ll be presented with the list of options. Press F4, F5 or F6 to enter into Safe Mode.
  • When Safe Mode starts type system restore into the search bar and run System Restore tool.

  • Boot using the Windows 10 USB or DVD.
  • Instead of installing Windows 10 choose Repair.
  • The repair process will scan your hard drive and fix the potential errors.

4. Refresh your Windows 10

  • Choose Keep my files.
  • During this process, you might be asked to insert Windows 10 USB or DVD so make sure that you have it.
  • Choose which version of Windows you want to refresh and click the Reset button.
  • This process might take a while, so be patient and for it to finish.

Before we start we have to mention that refreshing Windows 10 will remove any third-party software that you have installed, but it will save your personal files and settings.

5. Perform a clean reinstallation

  • Download Media Creation tool on an alternative PC.
  • Insert the blank DVD or plug in the compatible USB flash drive (4GB or more).

  • Choose to Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC and click Next.
