I am a big fan of Evernote and have been using the same ever since I discovered it about four years ago. This note taking service is just fantastic and apps are available for all major desktop and mobile operating systems.

Those of you have been using Evernote for a long time probably have seen how Evernote has evolved over the last couple years. The desktop client offered for Windows and Mac operating systems offers similar set of features and getting better with each update.

The only thing that I would like to see in the current version of Evernote is more options to customize notes. Sure, you can change the default font, font size, font style, and font color but one option that I would like to see is the ability to change the default background color of individual notes.

ENML Editor

ENML Editor is an excellent online tool to customize your notes saved in Evernote. The power of ENML is that you can customize your Evernote notes as you wish.

The procedure to customize notes in Evernote is fairly simple. You need to visit ENML Editor webpage, authorize ENML Editor to access your Evernote account, and then start customizing your selected note.

ENML Editor is built on Google AppEngine with webapp2 and connects to Evernote using its API.

For those who’re curious, you can customize only one note at a time using ENML Editor. While one can use this online editor to customize notes in both desktop client and web version, there is an AppleScript available for those who’re using desktop version of Evernote and want to customize notes quickly.

And if you’re lazy, like me, you can use ENML bookmarklet to quickly customize your notes without leaving Evernote’s web interface. All in all, ENML Editor is a fantastic online tool for all Evernote users. Do give it a try.
