Daemon Tools still doesn’t have an official Windows 8 app, but now the popular software has been updated to Windows 8.1

Some of us are still hoping there is going to be a day when we will see an official Daemon Tools app for Windows 8, even if it might seem a little weird to think about its functionality at the moment. Until that moment comes, we are pleased at least to hear the news that Daemon Tools has been updated for Windows 8.1, getting the full support for Microsoft’s first Windows 8 update.

Daemon Tools mounts and unmounts images and supports the following file formats in Windows 8, as well: .b5t, .b6t, .bwt, .ccd, .cdi, .cue, .nrg, .pdi, .isz. The paid version of Daemon Tools will also let you compress your image files and protect them with password in Windows 8. Also, you will have option to manage your image collection.
